The Great Southern Sky
Guest Speaker: Alan Dyer

This frames the Australian aboriginal “Dark Emu” made of dark dust lanes in the Milky Way as it rises in the east.
The best objects in the sky aren’t visible from up north, but only from far southern latitudes. Alan takes us on a tour of the wonders of the southern hemisphere sky, using images he has taken on trips to Australia and Chile. If you haven’t seen the southern Milky Way, you haven’t seen the Milky Way!
Please note that this presentation will include projections on the Zeidler Dome that may not transmit well over Zoom, so we recommend that you attend this presentation in person, if possible.
