Did you get a telescope for Christmas but you aren’t quite sure how to use it?

FREE event open to the public.

It’s a common complaint among first-time telescope owners: “I’ve got this new telescope and I can’t see a thing through it”. The aim of this Astro Café is to help you get the most out of your new telescope.

The popular How to Use a Telescope Astro Café is back! But this time via Zoom breakout rooms. Experts from the RASC will help you how to make the most out of your telescope. Discover how to properly set up your telescope, how to find objects in the sky, what accessories would be useful to you and how to take care of your telescope.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.This Astro Café will be on Zoom and we will use the breakout room feature to pair guests with experts.

To get the most of this workshop:
– Have your telescope ready.
– Consider using a mobile device to join the Zoom meeting so you are free to move around your telescope.
– Consider having an assistant hold the mobile device so your hands are free to use your telescope.

When you join the Zoom meeting, the host will pair you with an expert in a separate breakout room. When you are finished in breakout,you can re-join the main meeting.

Everyone is invited to join the main meeting at the end for announcements of future Astro Cafés.
